So now I'm confused. On the one hand impeached disgrace Donald Trump is trying desperately to re-open the country to save his political fortunes, even going so far as to encourage morons to protest for the right to die of Covid-19 in the streets. But yet, he also says that Covid-19 is so awful and dangerous that he has to ban all immigration into the country, legal and otherwise, by executive order to save our lives. Trump tonight tweeted:
"In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!"
So which is it??? Is this the most dangerous virus to hit this country in a hundred years killing tens of thousands of people in its wake, or is it something that's totally "under control" courtesy of his majesty and hence we can re-open the beaches, bowling alleys, businesses etc. etc. Which is it?!?! You can't possibly have it both ways.
But of course, that's exactly what Donnie wants. He wants to downplay Covid-19 to open the economy. But he wants to play it up to ban immigrants from entering the country. He wants to excite his base by opening up bowling alleys (still haven't figured that one out, why bowling first??), while exciting his base by banning brown people from entering the country. Because ultimately all of this comes back to two things and two things only: (i) distracting from his massive failures as a chief executive; and (ii) exciting his bigoted base to try desperately to Hail Mary his way into a re-election victory come November.
This man is a monster. And he will kill every man, woman, and child in this country to try to get himself re-elected. He'll kill us all simply for his ego....
